William L. Ward, D.O.

Dr. Ward is a native of the Philadelphia area, having been born in the City and educated at St. Joseph’s University.  He compiled his medical credentials by obtaining a degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, a residency at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Darby, a Pulmonary Fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, and then back to Philadelphia for a Critical Care Fellowship at the Medical College of Pennsylvania Hospital.

He is Board-Certified in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.  His medical interests and expertise lie in treatment of asthma, COPD, lung cancer, and pleural effusion.

At Abington Pulmonary& Critical Care Associates, Ltd., and at Abington Memorial Hospital, Dr. Ward practices inpatient and outpatient Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.  At Abington Memorial Hospital, he serves on the Sedation Committee and the Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia Committee.

The desire to remain in the Philadelphia area is motivated by his interest in being close to Family and Friends.  He enjoys watching his children compete in crew on the Schuylkill River and Tae Kwon Do tournaments.  Also, at the risk of jinxing the teams, he admits to being a devoted Phillies, Flyers, and Eagles fan.
